Inspiration for this design I have found from a sample book in Cooper Hewitt Museum collections.

The absolut fabric choice to create the real 1857 look is Light Weight Cotton Mul-Mul. The order quantity is 12 meters and the width of the fabric is 125 cm. The Fabric will be printed lengthwise so that both long edges can be used and the fabric is not cut too meny times.
Because of this, I do appreciate to discuss with you after the ordering and before I place the productions order.  After all, You should get most out of the fabric.

This is a direct shipment product and the price is presented without Custom Costs and the customer will pay these separately after receiving the product.
The fictitious weight of the product is based on to cover the price of the shipment.

This fabric is dedicated to Emily Stowe
In 1865, although opportunities for women to study medicine in Canada were limited, Emily Stowe applied to the Toronto School of Medicine. She was denied entry. Unable to study in Canada, she moved to the United States and enrolled at the New York Medical College for Women, a homeopathic institution. She obtained her degree in 1867 and returned to Canada, setting up her practice in Toronto. In so doing, Dr. Stowe became the first woman in Canada to establish a medical practice. For many years she was forced to practice without a license. She persevered, however, and on July 16, 1880 the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario granted her medical license. Dr. Stowe died in 1903 and is still remembers as a teacher, physician, suffragist, a defender of women’s rights and a champion for women in medicine.

We recommend gentle machine wash at 30 - 40 degrees along with mild environmental friendly detergent with out bleach.

Grandma's Laundry Tricks:
  • Do not Brush, Rub or Scrub the printed fabrics too hard to avoid damage to print quality.
  • Wash with similar colours to avoid staining or tint.
  • Please do not overuse the centrifuge, it only wrinkles the fabric.
  • Please do not overuse the dryer or use extrem heat, this only tears the fibres apart.
  • A dehumidifier is a great invention to dry the fabrics and clothes.
  • Dry the fabrics outdoors, if possible, but not under direct sunlight.
  • Environmentally awareness and the durability of clothing go hand in hand.
  • Do You really need to use the fabric softener or is white vinegar good enough?
